Making good on my promise, I don't strike camp until ten in the morning. Got up to see the sunrise though. Clouds have gone, wind has died. Hikers who take the ridge today will be blessed with perfect views. I'm jealous. Can't win them all.
Today's hike is so much easier. Sunny skies; gentle breeze; soft, sandy ground most of the way with primarily flat to amenable rolling slopes to boot. A couple of dips into mossy forest to offer respite from brilliantly shining sun. Made it to camp in three hours flat. Probably could push on but tomorrow's hike is gonna be a long one. Just relax for now. Recharge.
